  The best place to see the rim the way nature intended! Hard long 4x4 drive, watch for trees scratching the side of your rental, but so worth the effort. Camping places available, check with the back country ranger for current conditions and detailed maps. Do it!

  Worth the long trek to get there. So many views among the way. Trail winds thru the forest and occassionally opens up to beautiful valleys. We came across a wild herd of bison on our way, such an experience. We made it thru with a Subaru Forester, but it was a challenge and it was dry. You will not be disappointed.
